Adventure in Creativity with ScribbleJim

profile slideshow web email

James Dague (ScribbleJim) is the creator of ScribbleMonster, a children’s book and music series which introduces kids to the joy of creating and has been acclaimed by the likes of National Public Radio and Parenting Magazine.

ScribbleMonster’s music can be heard nationally on Direct TV, DISH Network, XM, Sirius, and independent children’s radio. Jim's bandmate, Jayne Saniat (ScribbleJayne), is a certified educator and brings another voice, personality and additional opportunities for interaction to school visits. In addition to their many years of creating, teaching and performing music, comedy and theater, both Jim and Jayne have experience parenting children with a wide range of talents and abilities. This experience is evident in their performances.

Jim & Jayne's visits include storytelling, music, dance, creative thought, play, and of course, illustrating. Intermediate grade presentations focus on the creative process. Programs for special needs, Family Night and other events are also available. The 45-60 minute presentation and materials stimulate creativity and expression while showcasing each child’s unique abilities. The curriculum-based presentations were developed in concert with teachers of various grade levels and student abilities.

Class books, music and materials are distributed prior to ScribbleMonster’s visit. Students have the opportunity to become book illustrators by completing a page of their own in a class ScribbleBook. Each program has its own theme, and coordinating activity pages are also provided for the day of presentation.

Past appearances include The Chicago Cultural Center, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, The Chicago Botanic Garden, Brookfield Zoo and many other school, library, festival, club, event, television and radio performances.

Read, sing, think, play, dance, draw and get creative with ScribbleMonster!
