DEDÉ SAMPAIO, a Master Brazilian percussionist who has created this outstanding program, has played/recorded with Miles Davis, Wallace Roney,Jon Faddis, Robert Irving lll, Toninho Horta, Gary Peacock, Randy Brecker, Dave Kikoski, Rita Moreno, and many others. The growing popularity of Brazilian music and its unique rhythms are reflected in SOUNDS OF BRAZIL.
This program is an exciting cultural adventure, students will explore, learn and understand many aspects of Brazilian history, geography, custom and music. A wide variety of Brazilian percussion instruments will be demonstrated, played, discussed and their origins will be explained. Students and teachers will get the chance to participate in hands-on percussion as we re-create The Brazilian Carnaval� atmosphere using SOUNDS OF BRAZIL.
